Sunshine Youth Camp in Kajang

One of those weekend, to fulfill our duties.
yeah, i call it a duty cos i really DONT WANT to do it,
if i could, i will tell lie to get out of it,
but i cant do that, conscience maybe,
and along with 11 others volunteers,
we are OBLIGED to fulfil these....
yeah, u might think that i love helping people,
but to me if its not coming from the heart,
its REALLY not sincere at all,
but anyway, i convinced myself,
fuggit la, im sure i will enjoy it somehow.
Joyce, Tania, Lulu & I was assigned to take care of
30 kids and to plan for a visit to an Old Folks Home.
We followed the organizing committee, and WALKED
like 40-45minutes to another side of the town???
Okay, never mind, i can deal with that,
but not the kids, they all look sooo tired!!!!
cos they're sleeping in classrooms,
and some prbbly dont have a proper sleeping bag either!
anyways, they are nice kids,
meet n greet the old folks in a nice chirpy way!
Group 1 - to decorate the mini Christmas Tree
(which cost only RM40 for everything!)
Group 2 - practice Chinese Christmas Carols
(videos on the way.... !)Group 3 - hang out/ chat / breakfast /
massage the elders.
They are amazing these kids, multilingual!
Apart from Malay/English/Mandarin/
Cantonese/hokkien/hakka/
teochew/foochow they can do ANY dialects
and communicate with them!
the rock and roll Atuk, we call him, :)
and he speaks only english and cantonese!
They must be really old, cos they told us stories
from the Japanese Occupation days, and
they were then about 7 yrs old, and they still fear
the Japanese after so many years.
Group 4 - clean up the garden (exterior)
and also the rooms (interior)Yeah, i did argue with one of the organizer,
not the kids of cos!!!
you can tell when someone is really doing work
and someone else is doing NOTHING
and yet is taking all the credits of others!
so i argued with him, when he demanded the kids
to work faster, and knowing me,
with super short temper, i lash out at him,
make a fool of myself, defending the kids,
beccause they are doing everything they could
within 2 hours, while he, what is he doing?
arms crossed, tapping his leg, NAGGING
about nothing is being done,
when everything is going on at the same time,
hello, mister, are u blind???
i let him insist that he is right,
lucky him i didnt whack his head with my broom!
im sorry im violent,
but one cant help it when there's a good for nothing person around.
--- TA-DA !!! END RESULT--Dong Zhi - a chinese festival, (Winter Solace)
celebrating the arrival of winter in December,
a time where family gathers and eat this pink little
flour balls...cooked in ginger soup, dip with peanut sauce.
some like it, but some doesnt,
me? im not crazy about it,
but i always like to eat it if there's some!
(im asking EngSeng as i typed this blog, cos
he's on MSN, a convenient dictionary...LOL)That's Tania behind me, and directly opposite us
in orange is Joyce, and Eric in the front row.
4 of us out of the 12 volunteers stayed at the campsite.
So funny, they have this group singing thingy
barbeque....corn corn corn... didnt eat it though,
conclusion,
i did enjoy myself when i was with the kids
and the volunteers, cos we're on the same wavelength,
but not with SOME of the organizing committee,
and you know what, they're prbbly reading this too.
im sorry guys, but i really think there's so much
more you can do to improve ur ignorance.
does that make me a witch now?
lol, i like that idea, so they dont mess with me!!!
yay!!!!!
