Day 5 / 6 : Banff Hot Spring, the Basin and the Snails!

Hotsprings are really one of the key factors,
if not THE key factor of the formation
of national parks in Canada.
this is big deal, it is THE SOURCE,
the great thing abt this is,
they maintained it as original as possible,
and not tampering with it,
entrance fee about CN$4
and not too mention the ODOUR, like bad egg!
in the old days, yes, like in the 18th/19th century
(i think thats abt correct, my logic is terrible)
this is where ppl bathe in the hotsprings!
i think its for members only, as the cost
of maintaining the pool is quite high,
i think they close it down n move to another spot,
yah, when i said OLD days,
i do mean HISTORICALLY OLD!
look at this awesome towel dryer,
freaky as it may sound, i can see 'people'
lining up to dry their towel in those
one piece swimming suit from the old days!
this is another pool, just across the main one,
you can see the fog/mist/heat whatever it is
forming on top of the pool and the cold wind
blows it every now and then sweeping away
very pretty sight to look at.
these snails are one of its kind,
so i thought i should take a picture of it,
before it extincts, according to the flyers,
you can only find these snails here in canada,
and not ANYWHERE ELSE in the world!
we're not even suppose to touch it,
they are very super duper triple important
to the ecosystem which also affects the hot spring.
this is just right beside the snails,
inside the water and things inside...
can you imagine lounging in this hotspring??
i cant.
anyhow, we did go to a modern hot spring pool,
at about 8PM at night, it was a WARM night,
(its consider warm in winter i guess, was sweating!)
we spent 20mins in the pool, that was the
recommended time spent in hot spring.
the design is so cool, from the locker room,
after you change & shower before entering,
you WALK STRAIGHT into the POOL!!!!!
i didnt get a pic of it, :(
i will bring you there, i promise!!!
that is, if you enjoy hotspring!!!
