thoughts (options) on working in a foreign country

i read this post on Ariel's site,
its about philippine based recruitment agency,
recruiting cleaners for a french company,
the next thought that popped into my head,
was the question i asked at the canadian embassy
as FATE would have it, MEDIA is not one of it.
great. just great. i went thru the list on the link, tough. :(
well, alternatively, i could pursue a Master in Canada,
and im as eligible as anyone to apply for any MEDIA job.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
foreign job agencies somehow reminds me (the drama queen)
this potentially sounds like human trafficking, SERIOUSLY,
it is prbbly one of the most lucrative business,
and even though i've not watched the film Taken
coincidentally the setting was in France
a thriller about a girl who was kidnapped
by slave traders and how she was geniusly saved,
it gives me creeps when i come across job agency
that recruits foreigners for these jobs,
of course with all due respect credits to genuine ones,
i think its a big big big step (or risk) to take,
i remember a friend told me before she is so tempted
to work in America as nanny because of all the benefits,
(btw she has a degree in advertising, brilliant student)
i looked at her, i wonder, there's nothing wrong with
working at a 9 to 5 job in Malaysia with ur current skills,
do you really want to give up everything u've acquired,
and go become a nanny and not knowing if ur prospective
host family is going to be nice / normal ...?
(well, it could also be a start of a fairy tale life
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
im not saying that nannies or maids are NOT honorable,
im saying, can you even comprehend the idea 100%?
some may argue that in 'advanced/developed' countries,
maids and nannies are treated fairly (as opposed to Malaysia)
and that the pay justifies whatever that you're doing for ur boss,
because its damn good pay and its always the thought of,
you could always go away and find another job
if you dont like being a nanny or maid in that country,
because you're already there and why not explore, right?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
i guess a lot of it its up to your choice and fate in ur hands,
how much can you control really?
do you remember the point of pursuing advance studies
in a specific highly skilled field in order to be in a
managerial / management position in ur home country,
or its really alright to work as a maid and nanny,
because its a mean that justifies the end result?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
really what are the choices available in our hands?
and as i ponder on all these questions,
i have a very stubborn (super stubborn) streak,
that says i will never allow myself be subsidize
no matter where i am, i can only go up not down,
i know its easy to say, but life choices is so tough,
that sometimes the only choice you have
is to uproot everything and
start all over again from the bottom
do we have the courage to do that?
