Vietnam - Empress Hotel

it feels so lonely right now
to be in the dark old world charmed hotel room
its dinner time but i am not feeling adventurous
to walk anywhere to find food
and so i keep browsing friends pics on facebook
all such happy and warmth faces
from melbourne to siem reap,
two of the most popular destination it seems

i might as well write while i still feel like it before i forgot

i chose this hotel cos its a Boutique Hotel,

didnt know what to expect to be honest,

the hotel is right smack in the middle of a row of shops

not your typical stand alone hotel, its very unassuming

it looks really old....

at the reception desk against the bright light

corridor to my room, yes i read ur thoughts,
"wouldnt fei be scared walking here at night?"
thank goodness for fast elevator and my room is near,
so i dont have a big problem feeling scared here..

all the lights are the yellow lights, ceiling and wall
so in a way its a romantic glow or something else,
depending where your idea goes
this is my tiny single room well equipped with everything!
its wireless internet connection, USD2 for 24 hours usage,
all the decor are in brown color and herbie is pretty mad
to be stuck in the room while i go for meeting all day long,
im going to get dinner after next post. promise. baby.

Vietnam - Sunny Hotel, Hanoi

pacific jetstar airline has domestic connection flight,

almost every 2 hour from HCMC to Hanoi,

i took the unearthly 620am one and just headache all the way.

this is not a taxi, i went to a taxi booking, cost me USD30,

so i shun them away and look for random taxi,

an uncle came towards me dress like a cab driver,

he quoted only US$15, i trust my instict,

and then he signal this car over without any taxi sign,

uh oh, too late, but hopefully this kid will not kidnap/steal,

he didnt, so im okay, and reach Sunny Hotel safely,

no more attempts like this alone again

i only had less that 1 hour before my meeting begins,

i think they ran out of Standard Rooms, and so they UPGRADE

to a Deluxe Suite for me at no extra charges,

(again, i have to trust instinct! hopefully they dont bill it!)

Free Internet..... that really makes my day

The towel smell really nice and fresh

the room very spacious with a welcome fruit basket,

ALL at my original standard room price US$60 per night!!

(Deluxe Suite for 2 is priced at US$120!)

honestly, the rate is MUCH CHEAPER compared to the

Empress Hotel, which makes me SAD everytime i go back,

CHARGED me for the 'Complimentary Water', its unheard of!

even though they are well equipped, staff is nice, and

i dont mind paying for internet, but its just the whole atmosphere,

and really, dont they get it the water is 'complimentary'??!!

its a bad deal that i will never re-visit again in Ho Chi Minh.
