Korea to Malaysia - Goong 긍

From MBC Korea to 8TV Malaysia. Goong 긍 - which literally means Palace, or also known as Princess Hours in English, is one HOT korean drama i'm watching with my mom now, its Friday today, and this evening will be the conclusion of the drama, and you won't be able to understand how 'depress' i might become without a dose of this soon.....even though i bought the original DVD's AND the absolutely lovely soundtrack, but still, nothinng beats watching the episodes on national TV.
BUT, isnt it great that we're living in this technologically advanced age? HD quality TV program. whooosh. The only thing i fervently hope for is a
common Mobile TV adoption in my country,
so i will not miss out any episodes of Goong while i'm outta house and also watch it as many times as a i like, storing the digital bytes in my digital gadget and share it friends in digital format. REALLY want that to happen.
BUT before that takes place in my country, let me just share with you this Korean drama series that sweeps me away. or u can just go to Reikkowen's site for previous Goong updates. :)
The Korean wave, or more like Korean fever in countries like Thailand and Philippines are massive, and i'm pretty sure that it hits the rest of Asia like a tidal wave, which makes it a sudden cultural boom like never before. I've NEVER heard of anything Korean before Korean drama, honestly, that was how it started for me, then comes the Korean pop music culture, and the more so when Rain/Bi/비 came to Malaysia (and me learning up every single korean song that he's gonna sing in the concert) for his world tour and it was a sell out! I mean, look at all these patterns as it weaves into our lives, i would absolutely write a disseration about a foreign culture which i absolutely would adore to learn about.
To me, the difference between Korean wave and the American culture is, one is closer to home the other had been in domination for so long and also its influences not just one part of the world but many therefore it became a way of life rather than a sudden burst of pop culture, while Korean wave, if you like, its like a huge bubble popping in thin air and spreading the colours invisible under the sunlight yet its dewey presence felt, and more bubbles are created, beautiful and enjoyable.
What do you think of Korean culture? even more so when you don't live in Korea.
And what about those who has lived all their lives in Korea, what do they think of their local culture embraced internationally?
