News Alert on Yahoo! Thai pro Choengchai out for a good run
PETALING JAYA: Thailand's youngest professional, Choengchai Panpumpo, 16, is expected to give leading pros from the Asia Pacific region a run for their money during the RM150,000 Petaling Jaya Classic that tees-off at the Seri Selangor Golf Club today. (its damn near my office whey....)

Choengchai, who became the youngest player to qualify for the Asian Tour by finishing in 47th position during the Asian Tour qualifying School, will square off against the likes of local professionals Airil Rizman, winner of the Pakistan Open, Ian Steel, runner-up at the Singapore Masters and Ben Leong, winner of the Asian Tour Qualifying School.

Some of the more prominent foreign professionals taking part are Unho Park (Australia), the 2006 Asian Tour's Rookie of the Year, Juvic Pagunsan and Tony Lascuna (Selangor Masters winner) of the Philippines and Panuwat Muenlek (Thailand).

A total of 144 players, comprising 58 foreigners, 59 local professionals and 27 yet to be named qualifiers, will take part in the tournament.
