IDEAS: Localyte.com

facebook ads seems to be pretty effective,

so far i've clicked over 10 ads

mostly travel services and shopping,

the latest one is localyte.com,

(again, im not endorsing it, so click at ur own risk)

but it reminded me of a discussion with shuxian long time ago,

there are friends of friends who come from different parts of the world

usually budget travellers, who either dont need a guide

or just would like to save time & budget,

by getting some advice from locals,

or hang out with locals,

so shuxian and i was thinking,

since we're already helping friends of friends

showing them around the some local tourist spots,

advicing them where to go etc

though we're not claiming to be expert,

but we're definitely passionate abt showing the tourist,

twin towers for the umpteenth time and

queueing up for them at 8am in the morning for the passes. lol!

my point is, this is something we'd love to do,

but how do we also make a business out of it?

Localyte.com seems to be the answer,

its like a site where visitors can post their questions,

and as someone who can offer travel advice locally,

you can even list down specialty like arts and heritage tour
or even natural hiking tour etc,

if ur an independent or freelance agent,

or just someone who has contacts to organize a tour,

you can even post the packages and pricing online,

which is a pretty cool feature if ur looking to make a business.

i've signed up but im not sure how effective

am i gonna use it, but so far, the emails with questions

compiled by the website sent to your inbox is frequent,

on a daily basis u get like 2 - 3 questions abt travelling in KL.

and i think u earn points by answering the questions,

but not sure what u can do with the points la...
